Laser Hair Removal | Introducing the Soprano Ice Platinum

April 11, 2019

Since launching laser hair removal at Raydiance Skin and Body, I’ve had many of my clients ask me about the Soprano Ice Platinum machine. Often, I’ll get quizzed on the basics; how exactly laser depilation works and whether the cost incurred is truly worth it?

Laser therapy is steadily taking over the ritual of hair removal with subscribers endorsing the treatment from pillar to Instagram post; yet many are still struggling to separate myth from fact. So I’ve decided to put together a simple laser depilation guide, starting with some information about this amazing machine.

How Does It Work?

The Soprano Ice Platinum is a state-of-the-art laser hair removal device. This machine uses In-Motion technology that keeps the skin protected while destroying the hair follicles. It uses 3 different wavelengths to target even the deep-rooted hairs.

These wavelengths are not harmful to the skin and due to the constant movement of the head (In-Motion), the treatment feels very comfortable.

The Soprano Ice Platinum also features a patented cooling tip, which cools to minus 3 degrees, comfortably cooling the skin during treatment.

How Many Treatments Do I need?

Depending on the skin type, hair type and hair density, the amount of treatments needed may range between 6, 8 or 12 sessions.

Hormonal changes can also affect the amount of treatments needed.

You can see results after the very first treatment, if the hairs are in the active Anagen phase.

It takes 4-6 weeks (smaller areas) and 6-8 weeks (larger areas) for the hair cycles to go through the phases, hence your treatments are spaced every 4-6 weeks to ensure maximum effectiveness.

How Much Does It Cost?

Cost of the treatment depends on the different areas, but if you look at the expense versus waxing, it makes more money sense in the long run too.

The best part is that you don’t continue doing laser treatments for five years, so the results speak for themselves.

Laser Hair Removal Do’s and Definite Don'ts

When you’re scheduled for a laser hair removal treatment, follow these helpful rules:

  • Do not tan the area for 10-14 days before the treatment

  • Don’t expose the area to the sun for 7 days after the treatment

  • No hot baths or saunas for 24 hours after the treatment.

  • Don’t use deodorants/fragrances on the area for 24 hours after the treatment.

  • Do not wax, pluck or use any other method to forcefully remove hair, shaving the area is allowed.
